Church services are held on the 2nd (Shotsuki Service) and 4th (Family Service) Sundays.

Starting June – last Family Service until September
June, July, August – Shotsuki Service only
Exception: July – Obon/Hatsubon/Nokotsudo and Family Service

Jr. YBA Membership
The Florin Jr. YBA (Young Buddhist Association) is the youth group of the Buddhist Church of Florin and was organized to meet the needs of teens from grades 8 through 12.

Greetings and info about Meadowview Farmers Market starting on Sun 5/4

Meadowview Farmers Market reopening Sunday – May 4th, 9am to 1pm

Will be open every Sunday May – October 9:00 AM – 1:00PM

The market will be at the Meadowview Light Rail station, offering not only nutritious food from local farmers and food business entrepreneurs, but also a dance troupe and drumline performances throughout the morning from children from families in the surrounding neighborhoods. Free health screenings and a drawing for a free bike.
Free rides to the market provided by SacRT.

Uprooted: An American Story

Some survivors of the Japanese internment camps gathered at the California Museum, where they were honored.

A 48-star American Flag, which was signed by many survivors, was also donated to the museum and will be part of the exhibit entitled Uprooted: An American Story, which shares the many faces of those who went through the ordeal of incarceration.

Watch and you’ll see a couple of BCF members Lois Tanaka and Mits Yamamoto.

Organizations

Dharma School

We utilize an exciting and motivating curriculum, which covers the central teachings of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism. Practice, etiquette, Buddhist history, development of good character, ethical values, family relationships, value of lifelong education, self-esteem issues, cultural arts, comparative religions, and other important topics for young people. Please sign up your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their friends. They are the future of our wonderful temple.

Jr. YBA

The Florin Jr. YBA (Young Buddhist Association) is the youth group of the Buddhist Church of Florin and was organized to meet the needs of teens from grades 8 through 12. The Jr. YBA members participate in religious, athletic and social activities within the temple as well as district seminars, annual conferences, and sports tournaments. Our group supports and takes an interest in all the activities of the church (such as the annual Mochi-tsuki, food bazaars, Obon Festival, and Hana Matsuri) and we chair Dharma School services throughout the year. Buddhist Women’s Association

The Florin Buddhist Women’s Association is part of the Northern California District Buddhist Women’s Association. The Buddhist Women’s Association is the women’s organization of the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha temples worldwide. The Buddhist Churches of America (BCA) Federation of Buddhist Women’s Associations (FBWA) is a member of the World Federation of Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha Buddhist Women’s Associations.
